Process —
The common denominator in any project is the Client. Who are we designing for? What do they want? How can we step into their shoes? How can we communicate our ideas and extract ideas from them? We believe the key to a successful design and building project is in the briefing and engagement with the Client.
All our projects benefit from our design ‘Process’
< Modelling: To get to grips with spaces we believe a fundamental way to start the ball rolling is modelling the conditions with which we need to work with.
< Designing: This process is ongoing, starting from the moment we meet the Client on site until after the project is complete. We work in a variety of medium with strong emphasis on hand sketching.
< Testing: We use computer programmes as well as physical modelling in order to test ideas. We can study light conditions, materiality and form in order to make sure that the design responds to all these criteria.
< Detailing: We pride ourselves on the level of detailed information that is given to Contractor’s for pricing. Details make or break a project and must be considered from its inception.
< Building: We look for challenging new methods of construction in order to decrease the building’s carbon footprint and to embrace building techniques and technologies of the future.
< Enjoying: We endeavour to complete a post occupancy analysis in order to keep on learning from our projects. We don’t live in these spaces, hence it is important that we keep in contact with those people that do!
